Using and Creating Your Dogasaur Profile

How do I create my profile?

Creating your profile is easy. Simply click on the "My Settings" in "My Dashboard." Complete the form and click the "Save Changes" button at the bottom to save. Don't forget to vote for your top 3 Charities of 2010.

How do I create a profile for my dog?

Creating a profile for your dog is easy. Simply click on the "My Dogs" in "My Dashboard" and click "Add Dog" from the menu. Complete the form and upload photos of your dog and click the "Create Dog Profile" at the bottom to save.

How do I upload photos?

To upload a photo in your profile, select "My Photos" in the "My Dashboard" menu. Select "Add More Photos" from the menu. "Browse" will open a window that allows you search and select photos from your computer's hard drive. Select the photo, add a title and description then click the "Upload Photo" button at the bottom.

How do I upload videos?

To upload a video in your profile, select "My Videos" in the "My Dashboard" menu. Select "Add Videos" from the menu. "Browse" will open a window that allows you search and select videos from your computer's hard drive. Select the video, add a title and description then click the "Upload Video" button at the bottom.

How do I send a direct email message to a current Dogasaur friend?

The Dogasaur direct message system allows you to send private messages to your Dogasaur friends. Select "My Inbox" in the "My Dashboard" menu. Select "compose message" from the menu. Begin typing the username of the person you wish to send a message to in the "To" field. A pulldown will show the friend list that matches. Select that friend and complete the subject and message fields and click the "Send Message" button.

If I am viewing someone else's profile page, how do I get back to my own?

When logged in, your "My Home" button is located in the top right corner of each page of Dogasaur.com.

How can I change the description I wrote on my profile?

To change the description in your profile, select "My Settings" in the "My Dashboard" menu. Edit the fields you wish to change and click the "Save Changes" button at the bottom.

What is the difference between "My Home" and "My Profile" tabs?

The "My Home" tab provides a news feed of all of the interactions your Dogasaur friends have been engaged such as reviews, posts, new photos, etc..
The "My Profile" tab is a list of aloof your personal interaction and status updates with your Dogasaur friends including comments, new friend adds, etc..

Finding People, Dogs and Making Friends

How do I find people?

There is a complete list of people located in the "Dogs and People" tab in the top navigation of Dogasaur. You can also search for people by using the green search bar at the top of each page on Dogasaur and "Sniff for" "People" "Near" your zip code, city or place name. You can also search by username or person name by also using the "Keywords" field.

How do I find new people in my area?

Finding people in your area on Dogasaur is easy. Simply use the green search bar at the top of each page on Dogasaur and "Sniff for" "People" "Near" your city or place name. You can also search by username or person name by also using the "Keywords" field.

How do I find dogs like mine on Dogasaur?

Dogasaur has a large database of breed types located in the sub menu of the "Dogs and People" tab in the top navigation of Dogasaur. At the bottom of your dog's breed page, you will find a box that features "Dogs on Dogasaur" of that breed.

How do I make friends with people on Dogasaur?

On each person's profile page, click the blue button "Add To Friends" to submit a friend request. An email will be send to that person notifying them of your friend request. Once they have accepted they will display in your "My Friends" list.

How can my dog(s) make friends with other dogs?

Once you add a person friend on Dogasaur their dogs become your dogs friends automatically. On each Person's profile page, click the blue button "Add To Friends" to submit a friend request.

How do I accept friend requests?

Select the "My Friends" button in "My Dashboard" and select "Accept Friend Request" noted to the right of their profile photo.

What type of things do most people share on Dogasaur besides photos and videos?

If you're stuck and can't think of much to talk about with members on Dogasaur, here are a few suggestions:

• Random blurbs and musings.
• Blog post topics.
• Fun links to share.
• Announcements on when you have a new picture or video to share.
• Invitations for other members to visit your profile page.
• Comments on their photos. (there are lots of great pictures to browse)

Finding and Reviewing Products and Services

How to I review products and services?

When you see an item or service you use and want to review it, you can do so in two ways:

1. By clicking on the star rating you want to give.
2. By clicking on the "Write a Review" button. In the "Add Review" window, input your review and star rating and click the 'Save Review" button.

How do I search for services in my area using the Directory? (US only)

There are over 120,000 US based dog-centric business listings in the Dogasaur Directory. Simply use the green search bar at the top of each page on Dogasaur and "Sniff for" "Businesses" "Near" your zip code, city or place name. You can also search by business name or category by also using the "Keywords" field or clicking on the categories listed below the search bar.

How do I retrieve my username and password if I have forgotten them?

Select "Login" located at the top right hand of any Dogasaur page. The "Sign In" box will pop up. Select "Forgot password?" The "Forgot Your Password?" box will pop up. Input the email address you used to sign up with on Dogasaur and click "Retrieve info" button. Your username and password will then be sent to you to that email address.

What do I do if my I'm having trouble with the sign-up process?

If you are having trouble with the sign up process, you can have your verification email resent to you by following the steps on the the page you are taken to when your verification link has failed. If issues persist, please email info@dogasaur.com and we'll be happy to help you.

How do I suspend my account?

Click on the "My Settings" in "My Dashboard." At the bottom of the page, check the box "Suspend Account" and click the "Save Changes" button at the bottom to save. You will still be able to login to your account, however, your account will not be visible to others.

Using AskDogasaur

How can I find all the questions and answers in AskDogasaur?

You can find question already asked and answered on Dogasaur several ways:

1. Simply use the green search bar at the top of each page on Dogasaur and "Sniff for" "AskDogasaur" and type your question or keyword associated with your question in the "Keywords" field.
2. Browse questions by: "Recent Questions" or "Recent Answers".

How do I ask a question?

Check to make sure your question has not already been asked by searching or browsing "Ask Dogasaur". If you can't find your question and answers, at the bottom of the "AskDogasaur" page, use the blue box "My Question is:" Enter your question within a 256 character limit. You can also add additional information in the "Add detail..." box and click the "Ask!" button.
