Is there a safe natural sedative for dogs to keep him calm during clippings? I don't like to take him to the vet because they have to put him to sleep , he gets so rowdy at their office. I know people can take Valerian root. Will this work or is there something else?
but a couple of months ago she wouldn't allow the vet techs to clip her nails, let alone issue her shots. The vet even told me that she was so much of a problem, they might have to sedate her next time she comes in. Is there something I can give her to mellow her out before the vet that is cheaper than sedation? Benadril doesn't work for her anymore so that's out. Thank you for all your help. She's a crazy dog, but I love her.
My Gypsy dog (Beagle) is constantly going to the vet to have her anal glands squeezed. $30.00 a visit. This can be almost twice a month. I have heard that if the dog has more fiber in their diet they wouldn't need to have their glands emptied , at least to lessen the visits to the vet. Gypsy's glands fill up and can make her very uncomfortable. My Vet says that if we want we could have the glands removed. But unless they become infected I would really not do that to her. I attempted to empty them once myself but I ended up just hurting her, so I will only take her to the vet. But if there is another way I'm game to try it.
As a groomer i ask this question to see if i do anything my customers don't like that they don't tell me about. Also at the same time if something your groomer does annoys you but they do it for a particular reason maybe i can help tell you why :).
i have a 2.5 lbs chi. she is very shy and she will not let us cut her nail we have to bring her to the vet and put her under gas so they can be cut, anyone know a better idea how i can cut her nail without stressing her out too much?? i've try everything ..
