Is it ok to feed your dog crushed eggshells for calcium?
I read online that some people recommend doing this. But I am afraid to try it.
While eggshells do contian calcium they aren't a great source of it.
My dogs are raw fed and this does include whole raw eggs. I just hand them an egg they crack it and eat. Sometimes they eat the shell, sometimes they don't.
You can dry the shells and pulverize them into powder with a coffee grinder also.
Dogs are designed to crush and digest bone as part of their natural diets, eggshells shouldn't be any worry.
